The timeline of testing depends upon the student.

The most commonly used tests in college preparation and admissions
are the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT),  SAT, and ACT.

Testing Quick Tips

PSAT
According to the College Board, students who take the PSAT their
sophomore and junior year score higher on the SAT than those who do not.

SAT
The SAT includes the Reading Test, Math Test and Writing & Language Test. 
The test is administered multiple times throughout the year.

The ACT contains four multiple-choice tests—English, mathematics, reading,
